Sorry it’s been a while since I posted, but I hope everyone will find it was worth the wait. We’re pleased to announce a release date of July 29th for Fleets! We’ll continue to polish and refine the game up until launch day, but we’re confident that we now have a solid and fun game that’s ready for the general public.
The next two weeks will see the launch of our redesigned public site, and we’ll be opening up the game guide and forums shortly. We’d like to thank everyone who’s been interested and involved with the game so far, and we’re excited to finally take the next step.

Yes I am sure everyone has been waiting years for tdzk again.
Though fleets will be a new form of it, I look forward to the game because the developers actually try to make the game as good as possible.

the wait for this game has been long…. very long but only 9 days left. i cant wait

The wait is over. After retiring from my role as galactic combatant, I found normal life boring. Now, I will place my wealth in a new venture. I, Pentares, takes to the skies again, but this time with a fleet of ships at my command. Few could stand against the might of my one ship, who will stand against a fleet of them. Corven and Blayze return at my side as well, a long with a few new friends. Only time will tell what the fates have in store for our once powerful union.
Once I was a young, zealous pilot, but now a wisened man. Only the stars know which will have known more success. Look out, COBRA returns.

Ah but in true TDZK style will it actually have a chance of launching on that actual day?!?!

Still on schedule?

Well this was unexpected. Pretty cool. If I didn’t still use redial as an image host I wouldn’t have stumbled on this.

So why isn’t the Fleets team doing anything to build a buzz in the community prior to launch?
It seems like a forum and an IRC channel would go a long way towards building a community (I realize you’ve drunk the Facebook kool-aid, but a simple Facebook page doesn’t cut it…).
Even if your goal is to move beyond the old XKCD player base, actively ignoring them is a bad idea. Why not provide them with a place to reconnect in the weeks leading up to the launch. Opportunity missed, IMO.
